What Is IT Management ?

Information Technology Management is the alignment of business and IT, budget , staffing, with focus on software design, network planning, technical support and others.

IT Management should not be confused with Management Information Systems MIS, however it is very similar to Project Management.

The easy way to understand IT Management is to see what happens when it is deficient in a business organization. Such as a security weakness in a company which allows hackers to break in and steal a business’s private information.

Security is one of the concerns of a business, however there are other concerns that IT Management addresses; the planning, design and use of a company’s information, communication and people to the company business goals.

IT Managers are trained to understand how IT can work with a business to achieve its goals.
